The CLAT 2017 enables the candidate to seek admissions in National Law Universities (NLU).
Eligibility Criteria For Undergraduate Programmes
The CLAT 2017 offers admissions to both national and NRI candidates in undergraduate law programme in well-known National Law Universities. The candidates must fulfill the CLAT Exam Eligibility criteria to participate in the examination:
  • Age Limit- The candidate applying for the undergraduate programme must note that there is no upper age limit mentioned for appearing in CLAT 2017. Thus, this examination is open for candidates of any age.
  • Educational Criteria- The candidates must satisfy the following educational criteria to appear for the examination:
  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks belonging to Unreserved/OBC/ (Specially Abled Persons) Categories.
  • The minimum marks requirement for candidates belonging to SC/ST Category is 40% marks in 10+2or any equivalent examination.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2017 are also eligible for appearing in CLAT exam.  However, they shall be required to submit an evidence of their successfully clearing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
Note: The candidates must convert their grades (if any) into percentage for appearing in CLAT 2017.

Eligibility Criteria For CLAT LLM Programmes
Below is a list of CLAT Exam Eligibilty for LLM programmes.
  1. Age Limit- There is no upper age limit for the candidates appearing in CLAT 2017 to pursue post graduate programmes. Thus, candidates of all ages are eligible to give the examination.
  2. Educational Criteria- The candidates must fulfill the following qualifications to appear for the examination:
  • The applicant belonging to Unreserved/OBC/ (Specially Abled Persons) categories must have cleared LL.B. or equivalent degree examination with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • The applicants must have scored 50% marks in case they are belonging to SC/ST category.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2017 are also eligible for appearing in CLAT 2017  examination. However they shall be required to show a hard copy of the proof of their passing the qualifying examination in the respective National Law Universities at the time of admission.
  • If the candidate fails to submit the proof they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.



CLAT 2017 Application Form & Process Details

CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test,its an aptitude test conducted every for admission in 17 national law colleges & Schools. Through this entrance exams students can apply to various law schools for undergraduate Law Programs such as BA + LLB, BBA + LLB, LLB and for Masters in Law i.e LLM.

CLAT 2017 Application Fee
For General/OBC and PWD category students CLAT 2017 application fee is Rs.4000
For SC/ST students application fee is Rs.3500

CLAT 2017 Application Process
The CLAT application form will be available tentatively, between the tenure of January 01, 2017 to March 31, 2017 on the official website and application will be filled through online mode. No hard copy of the Application Form will be available.

To fill the CLAT Application form, candidate must follow the given below steps:
Step 1 – CLAT 2017 Registration: To register for CLAT 2017 examination, first of all, candidate will have to register on CLAT Application Processing System (CAPS) by entering the following details

Candidate’s Name, Email Address and mobile number cannot be changed in the later stage. After successful registration, an email and SMS will be sent to the candidate registered email id and Mobile number. This email and SMS contain the CAPS Application number. Read more about CLAT Registration.

Step 2 - Fill CLAT Form: After registration, candidates have to fill the application form, for this login by using the CAPS Application number and Passwords. The candidate must fill the following information.
  • Candidate’s Personal details like (Candidates name, Date of Birth, Personal mobile number, Parent’s name, Parent’s mobile number etc.)
  • Postal Address (including PIN code) for Communication
  • Fill the CLAT 2017 Examination Cities
  • Upload Scanned image and signature
  • Upload the scanned copy of your Date of Birth (Birth certificate, 10th Class certificate, Passport or Adhar Card)
  • Upload the scanned copy of caste certificate PWD certificate/state Domicile etc. in PDF format only (if applicable).


Step 3 - Payment of the CLAT 2017 Application Fee: After filling the CLAT Application form, candidate must pay the application fee payment. Candidate can pay the application fee through online (Debit/Credit or Net Banking) or offline (Bank Challan). Steps in the application fees process are given below:

Step 4 - Print the Application Form: After filling the CLAT Form and making the payment, candidates can download their filled application form with fee details in PDF format. Candidates can take the printout of it and save as a record for further communication. The candidate must remember the CAPS Application Number and password to login It will be used check the application status, to download the admit card and to know the results

4 Understand and analyze legal well – This section will be going to come for only reasoning of 50 questions. It is significant that candidates should not lose concentration while attending this section. However, sometimes little tricks are there in 5-7 questions where the principle might be slightly twisted. It is essential to therefore, read the rest 40 plus questions and their principle carefully, otherwise one would never catch the trick.

5 Prepare a time table that balances your studies and fun but make sure that you must provide more time to studies than fun.

CLAT 2017 Exam Dates

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralised test for admission to 17 prominent National Law Universities in India. The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to integrated undergraduation programmes in Law i.e LLB and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws(LL.M) programmes conducted by these law universities. This test was conducted for the first time on 11 May 2008. The two-hour admission test consists of objective type covering questions on Elementary Mathematics or Numerical Ability, English with Comprehension, General knowledge and Current affairs , Legal Aptitude and Logical reasoning.The CLAT scores are used by other private law colleges across the country and Public Sector Undertakings for admissions and recruitment respectively.

Career being the main part of our lives and our everyday need to survive is a very important part to start with our basic choices.  It’s our career that gives us an identity in a society and to ourself.

When choosing a career it is important to understand what is best for you as there are multiple things to consider. Here are some tips on how you should choose a career

Today choosing a career should not be based on sticking to one option only, use your mind, take your time, go for a pre evaluation, search for examples before you go for one option. Other factors that can be objective to choose a career should be related to live the life and not surviving it, before choosing an option make sure you go for another advantages and perks of choosing that career which may include the salary, location, other benefits and opportunities for career advancements,etc. The subjective matters that should also be related to the career  is the position it gives you in the society, the status of job and the  reputation in the society give an important term to the psychological factor.

Its ok to fail before you rise but all you need to do is stand up after your big fall and know that there are always chances available to do anything once again but not the choices. Also, its not the end if you once make a wrong decision or went to a career that you don’t want to be represented for, if you have a job that doesn’t make you feel miserable and provides security to you and your family, you will be surprised to know how happy that makes you.
